NM Seeks Public Comment on Uranium Permit

November 14, 2008

GRANTS, N.M. (The Associated Press)

The New Mexico Mining and Minerals Division will give the public a
chance to comment on Neutron Energy Inc.'s application to explore for
uranium in Cibola County.

The division has scheduled a public hearing for the evening of Nov. 20
in Grants.

Neutron Energy has proposed drilling in the Marquez Canyon area about
30 miles northeast of Grants. The company plans to drill 44 holes in an area
that was previously disturbed by intensive drilling and mine development
work in the 1970s.

Several companies showed an interest in western New Mexico's ore when
prices skyrocketed last year. Earlier this week, the division awarded a
permit to Uranium Resources Inc. to conduct exploratory uranium drilling
about 20 miles north of Grants.
